The fad of the Pink Shirt day

My friend Trisha and I were talking about the symbol and fad of the Pink Shirts.  Do all these kids who dance in the flashmob care?  If so, how are people still bullied?

The point is…We have a say in it.

Every day, let’s sit with the kid who eats lunch alone. Walk the hall with the kid who gets taunted. Pick that kid first in gym. Invite the nerdy guy to BBQ. Dress down slightly so that girl doesn’t stick out at a semi-formal occasion. Every day, tell someone why they’re so awesome.

Say loudly and proudly, “You matter to ME.”

Then on the pink-shirt day, wear a pink shirt.  As your friends what they did to earn their pink shirt.

Let’s let it be a symbol.
