The Curse of being a human, evolutionarilly speaking

Natural selection for the first 200,000 years of human history did not reward honesty, loyalty, monogamy, fidelity, integrity, or bravery.

Those qualities we consider attractive were only cherished for about 2000 years. And during those 2000 years, we didn’t have great luck at it either. It’s only been about 160 years since the gangs ruled New York where lying and betraying was a pretty awesome idea. The Samurai that betrayed the Emperor, which meant betraying God, in 1600 got to kill everyone else that didn’t get on board.

Every day we have to choose to allow our values win against our curse.
